Blue Tree Studios is led by its two principals, Rachael Dere and Joseph Feil, and the team consists of six photographers and three videographers with in house retouching and editing skills. Our team has a wealth of photographic and video expertise to assist clients in the delivery of their marketing needs. The experience within the group is considerable, with literally thousands of jobs photographed for all levels of government, for media organisations such as The Age and The Australian, a range of educational institutions and a wide range of major Australian corporate businesses.
Our expertise covers major advertising campaign work, architectural projects, professional corporate imagery, editorial images that tell stories and lifestyle images that people can relate to and feel comfortable with.
We are equally at home in a studio, on site, out on the land or in a suburban environment. We take photos and digital video of products, people, landscapes and structures. We take photos that are honest, believable, fantastic and ambitious. Importantly, we have the experience to ensure that every photographic brief is delivered on-time, on-brief and on-budget.

Rachael Dere
Photographer | Director
Responsibilities: As one of the directors of Blue Tree Studios, Rachael is responsible for all photographic shoot production and education within the group. Rachael’s extensive commercial experience ensures that all jobs are allocated appropriately and all production issues are properly planned for.
Qualifications: Bachelor of Arts (Photography) RMIT
Professional Experience: Rachael has worked as a commercial photographer for 13 years, with a focus on architectural, commercial and corporate photography, and has a reputation for exceptional quality and attention to detail. She is committed to her clients and their visual impact to help grow their businesses.
Rachael’s extensive experience ensures she is capable of understanding and executing any brief, on time and on budget.
Joseph Feil
Photographer | Director
Responsibilities: As one of the founders of Blue Tree Studios, Joseph provides account management and a single point of contact for all major clients. Within the business he has responsibility for editorial, corporate and event photography and all back end systems and procedures including quality control and finance.
Qualifications: Bachelor of Economics (BEc) Monash University
Professional Experience: Joseph worked in Senior Management as a Financial Controller, Business Manager and Strategic Manager for 10 years prior to transitioning to photography. Initially a photojournalist, he worked for prestigious organisations such as The Age and The Australian prior to shifting his focus to commercial photography.
